Sandringham Golf Club (home of 9 ex-Royal Melbourne holes) and then Ryan's 40th birthday party

Toby went to a brunch today, therefore we signed up for a round at Sandringham in the early afternoon and only played 9 holes so that I could still be back in time for Ryan's 40th birthday. The plan was to play the back nine (the holes that used to be part of Royal Melbourne at one point), but the course was too busy that we had to start on the front nine :(. My 47 (19 putts) was one of the better front nines in a while, but the course was really not very challenging. Wide and forgiving fairways for the most part.

23 years, that is how long I have not seen my friend Ryan from my high school exchange year in Florida. Ryan is just the same, I would have recognized him instantly walking somewhere in the streets. So funny how some people change so much and others are just the same - with maybe a bit of grey hair... The celebration was a DT's, their local pub. Great athmospere and a great crowd. I am looking forward to staying at Ryan's when I get back from my trip down to the Mornington Peninsula.

... and, as I had announced it earlier, there was more delicious food waiting. Toby and Alex had made reservations at Cutler and Co and we were joined by Pauline. Excellent food and again great company!
