1&2: Thank you Ryan and Josh for your hospitality, I hope you come to Switzerland soon and I get to return your favor! I loved all the breakfast places you took me to in your neighborhood.
3: It turns out that Qantas - advertising that one can buy extra baggage online after booking the ticket for AUD 20 per 23kg piece - makes promises that are not quite kept. As my first flight is a code share with Jet Star, I am unable to buy extra baggage online. At the airport, they want to charge AUD 15 per extra kilo above the meager allowance of 20kg. So, with my 46kg in total... you do the math: outrageous!! Explaining my misery to the service agent at Jet Star, she commiserated (see her face, apologies from my side, I took the picture undercover...) but was really sweet and helped me get my golf bag onto the plane at the bargain of AUD 125 (and that should cover for my flight to Sydney - another code share - too. Thank you!
4: And last but not least, I should thank the idiot who returned the rental car I was supposed to get, but left the engine running and locked the key inside so that it was not ready in time. I ended up getting an upgrade to a much bigger and nicer car!
